I'm so scared right now. My father was brought to the hospital at the middle of the night due to a sudden collapse. I know God and His promises are the only things I can hold on to right now. This is so new to us and we dont know how to react. I ask thee for guidance and protection. I also do pray for my mom to be able to face these things strong. And I hope everything's gonna turn out just fine about my dad. These I ask to the most powerful name of all, Lord Jesus Christ.

John 8:7 and Proverbs 26:4-14 and
Genesis 45:1-28.
John teaches us that we all are sinners, those without sin cast the first stone. Your tongue can be used as a stone be wise in your words.
Proverbs, teaches us dont argue with fools. If you read the bible then you should know God is Love. A sinner can ask for forgiveness. Dosent matter the size of the sin, what matters is that you repent and turn away from sin.
Genises teaches us how to forgive. Joseph was betrayed by his family and friend. He was sold into slavery, lied on, jailed yet he still forgave.
The point im trying to make is, we all have done things or is currently doing things that don't align with God word. Instead of prosecuting each other with our negative words or thoughts, try uplifting, guiding, helping each other. Before you open your mouth, open the bible first. Get the correct answer. Be a blessing in someone life. Nelson Mandela life can teach us how to turn things around, what not to do and what positivity we can do in a situation like his. Learn, pray, forgive..... Thats all I have to say. This is my view.

Nelson Mandela being held up as an inspiring story? Please check the real history before glorifying such a man as this. He was a member of the South African Communist party, a terrorist pleading guilty to 150 acts of public violence, including a bombing in 1983 which killed 19, singing songs about killing white people, the practice of "necklacing" and repeatedly given the chance to be released from prison if he would only renounce violence which he refused to do. Please don't use people such as this for examples of God's restoration, you discredit your witness.

Read all biblical text!!. My friends every man is a sinner and only God is able to change them.. Nelson was another man just like me and you but he was able to find LOVE with help of God.. Read on South Africa's history and you will understand his bitterness.. We don't need to highlight hate, we rather highlight what came out from it, which was LOVE by Gods grace..
May God change you heart and Mind; know that Love conquers all
amen

I'm sorry Viviana but you can't glorify a man leaving prison without discussing why he was there.
Mandela is no hero. He was, in fact, one of the most wicked public figures of recent history. Read about necklacing, for instance, and know the Mandela was in favor of its use. He was a murderer, a liar, and a terrorist who had several chances to be released but didn't want to be.
He's no Joseph , who was imprisoned unjustly.
Even if he was forgiven by God (his actions certainly give doubts to this (you will know them by their fruits)) his life is no example of holiness or faith for us. Certainly no example of Jesus.
This was the first facts of faith I was disappointed in. Couldn't even finish it, it was so disgusting.

I’m sorry that some of you feel this way about simple illustrations. You condemn Nelson Mandela for the things he did to fight for equal human rights in his part of the world when he didn’t know any better as a much younger man. But you don’t seem to have any problems with the likes of Moses who killed an Egyptian in cold blood for a similar course when he also didn’t know any better.
As God used Moses, who eventually became the meekest man of his time on earth and is celebrated by Jews and Christians as one of the greatest prophets who ever walked the earth, to accomplish His divine purposes, He also used, uses and will continue to use flawed men to accomplish good works in spite of their imperfections. Don’t ever lose sight of that, brethren.

So now we aren't comparing Mandela to Joseph but instead to Moses?
You realize that Mandela never once said that terrorism, bombing, necklacing, or raping were wrong. Despite having many chances to do so. He wanted to be a martyr and persisted in it. He went to prison for a legitimate reason.
Two wrongs don't make a right. Murder, rape, pillage, etc can never be done for a good cause. If the methods are corrupt the cause is corrupt. You want say, well it was heinous but it was for "equal rights" and somehow have that sanitize it.
That's why God couldn't use Moses like he was. He was permitted to fail and he spent 40 years in the wilderness doing humble work.
Your last insinuation that God approved of what Mandela did and even used/empowered him to do it is too much.

u've got it wrong my brother. You are looking at the wrong of a brother to judge him . Can u tell me boldly that you have not commit a sin in your life before? the answer is very obvious ... the point over here is that whatever his wrong was he learnt from his mistakes and now he who was involved in ''necklacing'' was now allow both white and black people to mingle together... what a good lesson to be learnt by leaders who are actively engaged in racism...!!!.... to conclude my Mr. JRA i want u to have the eyes of Jesus to see what we are also seeing in this man ok..After all Jesus came for sinners not the righteous of which u may be the worst.(sorry by the way).

So I have to have never committed a sin to know if someone else is wrong? And if I ha e sinned I can't ever tell anyone that something is wrong ever?
If that is your interpretation what do you do with the Bible telling us to judge a righteous judgment and telling us that we will know by their fruits.

I think the point that is being omitted here is called forgiveness. God can, and does, forgive all things if but sincerely asked. You seem to want to hate an old man for what he did in the past. You claim, without substantiation, that he never asked for forgiveness or changed.
We are all sinners and to God the manner of the sin is irrelative. The question is can we follow His example and also forgive?

Wonder why Pastor Doug hasn't weighed in here on this?
