Reversing the Curse of Babel

An Amazing Fact: The seven most-spoken languages in the world are English, Mandarin Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, and French. Mandarin has the most native speakers, while English dominates international business and the internet. Spanish spans continents due to colonization, but French remains influential in diplomacy and culture.

Jing was curious. As the young Chinese woman browsed her social media app, a link to a mysterious website grabbed her attention. The truth she heard next transformed her life—but it might never have had it not been translated into her native tongue first!

More than eight billion people live on Earth. Most estimates say around 75 percent of them don’t understand English. That’s about six billion souls! If Bible truth were given in just one language, then people like Jing might never hear God’s last-day message.

Yes, it would be easier if everyone spoke the same language. But the Bible says that in the beginning, “The whole earth had one language and one speech” (Genesis 11:1). When people disobeyed God and built that infamous tower, the Lord confused their language as a way to stop their rebellion.

However, when the disciples obeyed God on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2, the curse of Babel was reversed! The Holy Spirit was poured out—and the message of truth was heard in many languages.

When your gifts translate the teachings of the Bible into multiple languages, you cooperate with the Holy Spirit to bring the good news of Jesus’ soon coming to untold millions. That’s why I’m excited about a new plan at Amazing Facts to translate our most popular programs into the top-spoken languages of the world.

And you can join us in this bold initiative, which is designed to reach most of the world’s population that doesn’t know English, like Jing, lost hearts searching for something better to give them a hope-filled future.

“Amazing and Magical Stories”

As a young adult, Jing liked reading strange articles on social media. One day, searching for more odd news, she typed in “amazing and magical stories.” As she scrolled through the articles, she noticed a website called “qimiaozhenxiang,” the Amazing Facts Chinese website.

Most of what Jing had heard about God came from what others told her, such as, “If you don’t believe in Jesus, you will be eaten by worms eternally.” Her heart raced with anxiety when she heard such things.

Satan has led most of the world astray from knowing the truth about God, death, and hell. That’s why the Lord asks us to share Bible truth with the world. Many false religions give a distorted picture of God. But you can show others—in their own language—that God loves them and wants to save them!

Finding Real Peace

When Jing opened our website, the first video she watched was The Final Events of Bible Prophecy translated into Mandarin. As she listened to what the Bible really teaches about death, she felt peace.

The program drew her to study more materials on our website. She was relieved to learn that when people die, they sleep in the grave until the resurrection. She also discovered that there is a hell and Satan will be destroyed, but that unrepentant sinners will not burn for eternity.

The Amazing Facts resources you helped translate inspired Jing to begin reading her Bible. When she heard me quote Scripture passages, she wrote them down and looked them up.

What a beautiful story of how God used you and your gifts to translate truth, transforming the life of this yearning woman! Today, Jing says, “Each day, I pray for God to guide me on the path of life.”

Amazing Facts is devoted to carrying God’s last-day message of hope to “every nation, tribe, tongue, and people” (Revelation 14:6). Right now, the worldwide scope of proclaiming the end-time gospel in every language is essential. Babylon is offering its wine of false doctrines to every nation.

Like what happened on Pentecost, we need to pray for the outpouring of the Spirit so that essential truth will be easily available and understood all around the world before Jesus comes. Jesus said, “These signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will … speak with new tongues” (Mark 16:17). We believe He is now making available new technology that makes it possible to translate Amazing Facts truth-filled programs into other languages more quickly and economically.

Amazing New Technology

You can help translate the most popular and convicting Amazing Facts programs—including the sermons, documentaries, and evangelistic series on our English websites and YouTube channels that are impacting the most people—into the most spoken languages of the world: Mandarin, Spanish, Hindi, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese, and French. As the Lord blesses and funds become available, we plan to add even more languages, like Tagalog, Bengali, and Romanian.

While not perfect, translation technology using AI is improving by leaps and bounds. AI can now capture the tone of my voice, mimic the movement of my lips, and analyze the emphasis in my speech to make presentations more effective in a different language. Of course, until the technology is perfected, we will need a team to carefully review each program to ensure quality and accuracy. But this new AI translation is much faster and more economical than yesterday’s method of creating voice-overs and subtitles.

Friend, God has used you to bring peace to troubled hearts worldwide. But millions—no, billions—still do not know the peace Christ offers. In these last days, as God pours out His Spirit, you can help reverse the curse of Babel by translating truth into one of the languages spoken by 75 percent of the world and comforting many in Jesus’ name.

Some friends of the ministry love this project and people so much that they have agreed to match up to $300,000 in funds received in response to this effort—doubling the number of people you can share truth with in their native language. Will you join me today as a co-laborer in proclaiming the three angels’ messages to people like Jing, telling the good news in a language they can understand? Your loving gift will help people be transformed by hearing truth on our programs that, we pray, will go viral!

Jing shares, “Even though there is a lot of suffering in the world that could shake my faith, I pray each day and no longer am afraid.” Will you bring peace to more hearts like hers by translating truth that will reach the world for Christ?

To every language, tongue, and people,
