An
Amazing Fact:
In January 2023, swindlers used artificial intelligence to clone a teen girl’s
voice and then called her mom. The mother heard her daughter’s “voice” crying
out for help—a man then came on the phone and demanded a ransom. However, after
a few calls, the mother found out that her daughter was safe and that it had
been a sophisticated and sinister scam!
Bob felt troubled in
his spirit. He was attending a Pentecostal church where members supposedly spoke
in “unknown tongues”—but it sounded like random gibberish.
It
happens all the time. People start reading their Bibles and then listen to what
a pastor is saying from the pulpit … and it doesn’t match. Many pray, like Bob
did, for God to lead them to the truth. Your gifts have played a key role in God’s
answers to their prayers!
But
many seekers are still being ensnared by messages that sound close to
the truth but are counterfeits. That’s what makes Satan the ultimate scam
artist. “The great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the
Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world” (Revelation 12:9). That’s
why God wants us to use every good method possible to expose these falsehoods.
Speaking
in tongues is one of many truths counterfeited by Satan. That’s why I am so

That’s what you did for Bob …
Glad to Receive Truth
After
Bob gave his heart to the Lord, he began reading his Bible and attending
services at a Pentecostal church. While many of the things they taught made
sense, in other areas, Bob’s heart simply didn’t feel right. I believe that was
the Holy Spirit speaking to him through his Bible reading.
Satan’s
favorite style of deception is mixing truth with error. He has a counterfeit
for every doctrine of God, including one for the gift of tongues. Bob shares
that “speaking in tongues was one of those things” at his church.
Over
the years, Bob heard even more discrepancies between his pastor’s sermons and the
Bible, so he began praying for the Lord to reveal the truth to him. That’s when
he searched the web and found amazingfacts.org. He then watched our Millennium
of Prophecy evangelistic series. He says, “I watched them all in a couple
of days and was floored! This is exactly what I had been praying for.” Bob
was thrilled to hear the messages you and your gifts brought to him.
But
when he excitedly shared with a church friend what he learned about the
Sabbath, his friend became irritated. “To my shame,” Bob admits, “I put truth
on the back burner.” For a year, he didn’t follow the new light he had
received. That’s a dangerous place to be! The Scriptures warn, “To him who
knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin” (James
4:17).
But
praise God, He used you to make sure that Bob didn’t stay there!
Committed to God’s
Truth
One
evening, Bob returned to amazingfacts.org and watched those same evangelistic
programs that spoke to his heart a year earlier. This time, he looked up all
the texts I shared. He says, “Seeing [these verses] in black and white in my own
Bible made the difference. From then on, I have been committed to God’s wonderful
truth.”
Within
a week, Bob and his wife found a Sabbath-keeping church and began attending. Baptism
into God’s last-day church came five months later. Praise God!
Today,
Bob shares the Amazing Facts Study Guides with others. He’s also
involved in prison ministry, helping set many free from Satan’s counterfeits. He

still be searching for truth.”
Exposing Satan’s
Scams
Imagine
