Was Judas Saved? The Vatican Says Yes.

By Mark A. Kellner | Posted April 27, 2021

The name Judas Iscariot is so marinated in ignominy that it is synonymous with betrayal the world over. After all, how many parents today are eager to name their little boy after the disciple who betrayed Jesus to the Jewish leaders and the Romans with a kiss (Luke 22:48)? Indeed, to be “a Judas” today is to be the epitome of unfaithfulness.

Or is it? According to L’Osservatore Romano (“The Roman Observer”), a daily newspaper published by the Vatican as its official “voice,” Judas was forgiven, despite no clear scriptural indication. On April 1, L’Osservatore published an Italian-language editorial, translated into English as “Judas and the Scandal of Mercy.” The editorial, published for Holy Thursday, refers to a painting that Pope Francis reportedly keeps behind his desk: Judas being ministered to by an unclothed Jesus in the afterlife.

Western media have focused on the “scandalous” nature of the painting of a “nude” Jesus in the pope’s office, something that is certainly offensive to many believers. One news site with a conservative Christian perspective quoted one critical website as saying, “If this isn’t one of the most blasphemous and ungodly images the Roman Catholic Church has ever endorsed—and it has endorsed many—then nothing is. … Pope Francis is by far the most secular, ungodly pope to take the high office of the Roman Catholic Church in modern history.”

Saved in Sin?

So, is the notion that Judas was somehow “saved” or “redeemed” biblical?

After Judas led the men who wanted to kill Christ straight to Him, he committed suicide by hanging (Matthew 27:5). Are these the actions of a man who believes Christ can forgive and make him anew? Are these the choices of one who repented of his sins and devoted the rest of his life as “a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God” (Romans 12:1)?

Said one Christian writer, “The Lord Jesus could and would have saved Judas as He afterward saved the thief on the cross had Judas yielded and confessed his traitor’s work, even then. How different would have been the history! How freely would Christ have forgiven him.” But the point is that Judas didn’t confess.

The American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property—a lay Catholic organization—pointed out, “Judas was not a ‘poor repentant man who did not know what to do,’ as Pope Francis said at the sermon of a Mass in the Chapel of Casa Santa Marta on April 11, 2016. He knew very well what he was doing, for the Savior had continually warned him. However, [Judas] was obstinate in evil.”

And as Christ Himself prayed to God the Father, speaking of His twelve apostles, “Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled” (John 17:12). “The son of perdition” is Judas Iscariot; it is he and he alone of the twelve who is “lost,” not saved. The Messianic prophecy that he fulfilled (13:18) is found in Psalm 41:9: “Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.” Was it not Judas whom Christ named as His betrayer by giving him “a piece of bread” (John 13:26) at the Last Supper? “Having received the piece of bread, [Judas] then went out immediately” (v. 30) to divulge Jesus’ whereabouts to the Jewish leaders.

“He who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil,” said Christ (3:18, 19).

If Jesus were to grant salvation to a man who loved doing evil until the last, then that would mean that Jesus would resurrect that man in his sins. That man, who had no heart change while he lived, would reside in heaven and on the new earth, loving to sin and continuing to sin. Sin would eventually repopulate over the earth, and we’d be right back to where we are now—weighed down in pain, suffering, and death. Does that make any sense? Does that fit with any of the promises God has given us in His Word?

The Bible is clear that a person’s opportunity to be saved is during their lifetime. That’s it—“there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going” (Ecclesiastes 9:10). There is no way to repent after you’re dead, no “get out of jail free” card, no “back door” into heaven.

Writing to early Jewish believers, the apostle Paul declared, “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him, He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation” (Hebrews 9:27, 28). After death is the judgment—in which the saved have no part with sin.

Part of the confusion surrounding grace for Judas is the popular belief that a departed being is “still alive in some form,” as a Bible Talk episode called “Life After Death, Pt. 5,” one of a series of messages on 2 Corinthians, notes. It’s worth knowing the facts about what happens beyond this life—because, as the L’Osservatore article proves, it might just make a difference in your eternal life.

Follow that up with a biblical understanding of the true meaning of God’s mercy in Pastor Doug Batchelor’s revelatory study on “The God of Grace and Judgment.”

A person is an idea formed in God's imagination. To wor-ry about where the person we appear to be is going is idolatry. Yahweh means to be. The Lord is our being which is the light that shines in the hearts of every man though most know it not. Be still and know that I am is the Lord thy God. Hello? Sound it out and stop conforming to the beliefs given to you by the world. The meaning of the names in the Bible give the meaning of the stories. You can easily figure out what the Bible says if you desire. Faith without reason is faith in vain. Believing because someone told you is not a reason and it's only pretending to believe for personal gain as the Pharisees. Love for everyone.

Can God save someone convicted of treason by the government? Can they be forgiven and go to heaven?

I believe a person is a thing as an idea formed in the imagination of God. A person changes every second. When we are in a mood we can change into someone who appears quite different than the person we appeared to be a moment earlier. Would it be the person we appear as at the end of this physical life that goes to heaven? Our being is the only part of ourselves which has always remained the same and is in fact amazingly the only being there is as the Life of the world. Baptized in the Holy Spirit means to be born again with the knowledge of what is true as I am the way, the truth and the Life, all singular. To understand is different from knowing. In order to know or enter the Kingdom of God we must first sacrifice ourselves, the belief that the person we appear to be is our being. Be still, let go of the world as Jacob did in the land of Pineal, and know that I am the Lord thy God. Peace be with you.

Only our God (Father ,Son and Holy Spirit) knows the heart of every person . A person claiming to be god can never know the heart of any one . What about the people who died in the flood or the Israelites who died durning the 40 years of wondering or the fallen angels or the religious leaders who had Jesus crucified.......Only God knows who is with Him or against Him .

You state: “Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled” (John 17:12).

You seem to believe that Judas was lost. I agree. But you seem to indicate that Judas was never saved. I disagree.

Again, Jesus said, “Those whom You gave Me I have kept... except the son of perdition..."

Jesus came to save us "from our sins" not in our sins. Read the verses again and you will find no evidence of repentance by Judas. He did not ask for forgiveness so his sins, not just his betrayal of Jesus, were never removed from the Book of Death. Read I John I:9-If we confess our sins,He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. No evidence exists that Judas confessed his sins before he took his life. The Pope is spreading the same lie Satan told Eve-You shall never die!

WHY DID JUDAS FALL? Part 4: -

STILL AT MORAL OF THE LESSON: - ==== MESSAGE CONTINUED...

In fact, the message about the ROAD TO EMMAUS shows that all the DISCIPLES of Jesus believed that it was Jesus who would save the nation of ISRAEL from the ROMANS, but Jesus chose to die instead of doing the will of the nation of ISRAEL, "(Luke 24:13-35)." Please do not have a phobia for the PAPACY, and you forget the real culprit. The word of God should be interpreted accurately, not for convenience or for greatness, kind of like making a name out of God's word. Amen!

WHY DID JUDAS FALL? Part 3: -

STILL AT MORAL OF THE LESSON: - ==== MESSAGE CONTINUED...

Our fathers did some things, and they were very JUDGMENTAL, trying to show their purity before men, yet we follow their dictates. This was a message intended for the nation of ISRAEL, but the Church is also afraid of the PAPACY (CATHOLIC Church), which will be destroyed by God using the (10) TEN HORNS. And we are just preaching fear of something that has already been JUDGED prophetically!

And so the Church is also acting like Judas, to share one bed with the real CULPRITS who are the leaders of the nations; by protecting the (10) TEN HORNS and pinpointing on a broken establishment that is already destroyed, who cannot do harm to anyone. It is the UNITED NATIONS that you should fear, because you can see that your world leaders are imposing rules on you in YOUTUBE, FACEBOOK and TWITTER, trying to force you to embrace HOMOSEXUALS among other many lawless establishments...

You see, JUDAS was determined to destroy the enemies of ISRAEL who were the ROMANS, so that he did not see the bigger picture. And it was not only him, but the Apostle Peter also tried to rebuke Jesus when Jesus said that He was going to die, "(Matthew 16:23, Mark 8:33)." But you know that Jesus is the one who chose Peter, and He prayed for Him while condemning Judas, because it is written:

  1. For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will
    Romans 9:15.
And:

18. Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens.
Romans 9:18.

WHY DID JUDAS FALL? Part 2: -

MORAL OF THE LESSON: - ==== MESSAGE WILL CONTINUED...

God is SOVEREIGN and He can do whatever He likes with any of His creatures, and He speaks through His prophets. We do hate so much, trying to show how much HOLIER we are, yet we do not follow what is written precisely because of trying to prove so much how we are dedicated to acts of RIGHTEOUSNESS, yet that is our fall. And that is what God calls COALS in His nose, "(Isaiah 65:5)."

The Righteousness of God’s Judgment: -

  1. “I was sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those who did not seek Me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am,’ to a nation that was not called by My name.
  2. I have stretched out My hands all day long to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, according to their own thoughts;
  3. A people who provoke Me to anger continually to My face; who sacrifice in gardens, and burn incense on altars of brick;
  4. Who sit among the graves, and spend the night in the tombs; who eat swine’s flesh, and the broth of abominable things is in their vessels;
  5. Who say, ‘Keep to yourself, do not come near me, for I am holier than you!’ These are smoke in My nostrils, a fire that burns all the day.
  6. “Behold, it is written before Me: I will not keep silence, but will repay— Even repay into their bosom—
  7. Your iniquities and the iniquities of your fathers together,” says the LORD, “Who have burned incense on the mountains and blasphemed Me on the hills; therefore I will measure their former work into their bosom.”
    Isaiah 65:1-7.
III. QUESTION: - WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED FROM THIS VERSE?

"(If God repays everyone according to their works, according to the fruits of their doings Jeremiah 17:9-10)." Then should God send them a prophet who sleeps with the DEAD? I will say that with God nothing is impossible, as long as He does all things in the LIGHT! Therefore it is TRUE, God may send them a PROPHET to show them their HYPOCRISY!

WHY DID JUDAS FALL? Part 1: -

(1). Did EZEKIEL betray God's LAWS, or did he follow God's commands, to eat food that is backed by human waste, "(Ezekiel 4:12-15)." What was God trying to teach the nation of ISRAEL in this nation?

(2). The Apostle Peter also did a similar thing, and his message meant something important for all the SAINTS to learn, "(Acts 10:1-48, 11:11-18)."

I. QUESTION: - WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED FROM THOSE TWO VERSES?

I have personally learned that God uses proverbs to explain Himself, and in this case He was trying to explain to the nation of ISRAEL how filthy they are, the same way the nation of ISRAEL saw GENTILES nations, yet God still spoke for the GENTILES...

(3). Did MARY THE MOTHER of Jesus commit ADULTERY with the HOLY SPIRIT, because she was in a relationship with Joseph almost getting married, for she was found pregnant with the child of the HOLY SPIRIT, "(Matthew 1:18)." It is funny that God never even hinted anything to Joseph the husband of MARY to be! It was later when Joseph came to know of MARY'S pregnancy, and he wanted to separate from her secretly, then God showed Joseph everything in a dream...

II. QUESTION: - WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED FROM THIS VERSE?

It is written: The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it? I the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruits of his doing.
Jeremiah 17:9-10.

Therefore the nation of ISRAEL was filthy because of their ADULTERY, and so God used MARY THE MOTHER OF JESUS to show them the SIGN of their SINS, yet that was also their DELIVERY AND SALVATION. But because of their FORNICATION AND ABOMINATION, at that time the nation of ISRAEL was not delivered from their FORNICATION, but only the DISCIPLES of Jesus were delivered...
