Matthew 22:36-40 "Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."

2 Chronicles 7:14 refers to the people of Israel, not of the USA.

Romans 11 KJV

22 Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness to you, (K)provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise (L)you too will be cut off. 23 And (M)even they, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God has the power to graft them in again. 24 For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree.

2 Chronicles 7:14 refers to the WHOLE WORLD both before the 1st Advent & after!

Let the Bible speak for itself as the new Convenant allows John 3:16 that is the gospel encapsulated! It HIGHLIGHTS the BEAUTIFUL character & GLORY of God!
Caller: Well I was talking the other day with a Christian friend of mine about what she thought the most important verse in the Bible was.

Pastor Doug: Yes.

Caller: And I was wondering if you had a view on that? I thought it was, ‘Seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven and all these things shall be added unto you.’ I was just wondering if you had a view on that.

Pastor Doug: Well obviously, since there are thousands of verses in the Bible and you ask 10 people, you’ll get 11 answers. Martin Luther felt it was John 3:16. He believed that encapsulated the Gospel.

There are a lot of people who believe that it’s one of many verses in Romans, ‘The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life.’

Some of my favorite verses are in the Old Testament, like where it says in Solomon’s prayer, ‘If my people that are called by My Name, would humble themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways and seek My Face, then I will hear their prayer and forgive their sin and heal their land.’ Now that’s a wonderful verse.

So, you know I’ve got a number of favorites. One of my favorites is Jeremiah 29:13. Whenever I sign one of my books, I write my name, and then I write Jeremiah 29:13. You know what that one is Matthew?

Caller: No I don’t.

Pastor Doug: ‘You will search for Me and you’ll find Me, when you search for Me with all of your heart.’

Caller: That’s similar to ‘Seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven.’

Pastor Doug: Exactly.

Co-Host: Right.

Pastor Doug: Make it a priority.

Caller: Yeah.

Pastor Doug: But that’s right. I think you’re right on target. Well we need to give some of our other callers a chance – but we appreciate that perspective, to keep our priorities on knowing Christ.

Caller: Ok God bless.

Pastor Doug: Thank you so much.
