Slowing Down and Speeding Up

Like many of our other international outreach programs, Amazing Facts China has been impacted by the pandemic. Though churches have been closed by the government, the number of people contacting the ministry, downloading videos, and asking Bible questions has risen dramatically! Some of our local workers have been ill or have had other challenges, so please earnestly pray for the health and protection of our team members in China.

First, the Statistics

Statistics can be boring, but when you consider that these numbers represent people reached for Christ, they are encouraging!

Despite severe health challenges, our team in China has translated and uploaded six videos full of gospel truth. They work diligently to put up something new on our websites each week—such as a video sermon or a book. Recently, they have been uploading a new chapter from Pastor Doug’s book Broken Chains weekly—and they are now preparing to upload Three Steps to Heaven.

The pandemic has also increased our website traffic. Last year, we received more than 300,000 visits across our Chinese-language websites—and this year, that number has reached more than a million. God is good! There has also been a significant increase in those reaching us via a mobile device.

And even though the worst of the pandemic is passing, people are still enrolling in our online Bible courses—from almost 10,000 last year to more than 17,000 this year. The number of graduates has also increased from 500 to over 650, meaning more people have discovered the full everlasting gospel in China!

Our team’s correspondence evangelism work is also quite active. Our team answers Bible questions, prays for people, and guides seekers to local Sabbath-keeping. The team in China has also noticed an increase in friends connecting with us on WeChat. Even more amazing, online donations have jumped from those excited about our mission. Our team in China praises the Lord for all the lives you are touching in China!

*Names have been changed to protect the believers.

Mr. Yu*

This past year, Mr. Yu wrote on our Chinese website: “My family has been Catholics for three generations. I watched Pastor Doug’s sermon, and it was very enlightening. Should I change churches or stay here?”

One of the Internet evangelists that you support added Mr. Yu as a WeChat friend to help answer his questions, and Mr. Yu shared more of his experience. He wrote, “About six months ago, a Catholic friend of mine who loves to discuss religion with me knew I’d been listening to Christian sermons, and unexpectedly, he recommended your website even though he had never looked at it.

“I like seeking after truth and trying to understand difficult scriptures. In the Catholic church, the sermons are very short and superficial. They don’t satisfy the desire of my soul. So I went to your website and watched almost all of Pastor Doug’s sermons. I had never heard anyone analyze and explain the scriptures in such detail before. I felt what he said was very biblical and very enlightening!”

In his enthusiasm for the Lord, Mr. Yu also wrote, “Thank you, Amazing Facts. Thank you, Pastor Doug! After listening to Pastor Doug’s sermons, I realized that I had to leave Babylon and not worship the beast and its image.”

Our team in China has provided Mr. Yu the contact information of a local Sabbath-keeping church. While the church is closed due to the pandemic, he is determined to go as soon as it re-opens. Praise God for His wonderful leading!

Mr. Wang*

Mr. Wang wrote our China team: “I am 39 years old. When I was 30, my wife’s sister shared the gospel with me and I started to believe in God. I began going to a Sunday church. I also bought a Bible audio player and started studying the Bible. After six months, I was baptized.

“It was around 2013 when I heard Pastor Doug preach on the audio player, and that’s when I learned that the Sabbath was Saturday, not Sunday. I began to talk about it with my brethren in the church and the church leaders. I argued with them, but no one believed. They all called me a heretic, and I was ostracized, so I gradually stopped attending church regularly.

“After much thought, I wondered, ‘Am I wrong?’ I did not know what to do, so I prayed to the Lord for help. By reading the Bible, listening to Pastor Doug’s sermons, and examining the scriptures he provided, I was convinced that I had made the right choice. Thank the Lord!

“My wife, who is also a Sunday church member, was afraid that I might be going astray, so she gave the Bible player to someone else and refused to let me listen to it anymore. I used my mobile phone to start looking up the origin of Sunday and continued to listen to Pastor Doug on the Internet. By the second half of 2018, I found an online Sabbath church and have been attending ever since. I got to know the church elders, and I was baptized in 2019, officially joining God’s last-day church.

“I’ve been in the Sabbath church for almost three years. My wife is not happy, and she has threatened to divorce me. Please pray for my wife. May the Lord help her to accept the truth.”

Please pray for Mr. Wang and his wife, that the Holy Spirit will soften her heart to Bible truth and that they may be united in Christ..

Please remember in prayer our team in China, as they face many obstacles. Pray for the health of our local workers as they continue to translate resources, upload materials, and answer urgent Bible questions! God cares deeply about the people of this huge nation trapped by spiritual darkness, and your regular support is multiplying Bible truth for tens of thousands of seekers!

Amazing Facts is a non-profit, donor-supported ministry.
We greatly appreciate your prayers and financial support.
