Soul-Winning Africa Mission Report

The giant continent of Africa has giant needs, especially during the pandemic, which has closed down public evangelistic meetings. But through your continued support, AFCOE Bible workers are pressing forward, conducting personal evangelism, canvassing door to door, holding Bible studies, and bringing people to Christ—some young, some old, some very old!

Uganda: New Converts Giving Bible Studies

During the first pandemic lockdown in 2020, AFCOE Africa Bible workers in Uganda had to focus on personal evangelism, giving Bible studies house to house. Despite the restrictions, many were baptized. In the follow-up programs of one of our evangelistic teams, five newly baptized members expressed a desire to be trained in how to be soul-winners. The AFCOE Bible workers took them on outreach and trained these new members to give Bible studies and gain decisions.

After training, God provided the graduates the challenge of starting a Sabbath School in an area yet unreached. This group of five new converts enthusiastically took up the challenge and have been doing Bible work in this area for the past two months. They now have a weekly attendance of 10 to 20 people on Sabbath. These new members, newly trained in outreach, have already started a following that will one day become a new Sabbath-keeping church!

Another AFCOE evangelist has been training church members to give Bible studies, and one of his students, Ezra, recently led a group of seekers through the Storacles of Prophecy lessons—and four of them made the decision to be baptized! This is how the work of Amazing Facts in Africa is advancing. Not only are souls being won to Christ, but church members and new members are being inspired and trained to win other souls to the kingdom.

Helping the Weak Become Strong

Medical missionary work is the “right hand of the gospel,” opening the door of the heart to the entrance of gospel truth.

Among the converts recently won to Christ in Uganda is Itugo Yodesi, a 50-year-old former Catholic woman who had been bedridden for 20 years due to high blood pressure and diabetes. Abandoned by her husband eight years ago, Itugo was so weak that she could hardly sit up for even a minute. But through prayers, home-remedy treatments, and Bible studies, she regained her strength and decided to join a local Sabbath-keeping church. Recently, she was baptized along with three of her daughters. Today, she praises God for His restoring grace and is looking forward to a full recovery of health as she seeks to follow biblical principles of healthy living.

Another soul recently baptized in Uganda is an 81-year-old woman. God’s truth appeals to all, young and old—you are never too old to follow Jesus and take the step of baptism!

Kenya: Never Too Old to Be Baptized

Speaking of never being too old, in Kenya, one of our AFCOE Africa evangelists led Ludia, who is believed to be 120-years-old, to make a decision for baptism. Ludia attended all the evangelistic presentations, and at the end of the series, she made her decision to follow Jesus. Previously, she had been a member of the African Gospel Church. Alison, the evangelist, states, “This woman loves the Lord, and she told us that death seems to have forgotten her!” Her chief pursuit in life now is to prepare to enter heaven. Shouldn’t that be our chief pursuit as well?

Please continue to hold up our AFCOE Africa team in prayer, especially as the COVID pandemic continues. Even as people are losing their lives, we are working to bring these hard-to-reach areas the message of eternal life. Thank you for your vital support for the soul-winning work of Amazing Facts in Africa!
