7 Easy Ways to Share Your Faith this Halloween

By Shemeka B. | Posted October 09, 2018

Scary halloween pumpkin faceIt's coming … even for those who’d rather not celebrate it. You can’t go to a supermarket, drug store, or even the local donut shop without seeing a reference to it. We’re talking about Halloween, of course, the annual day of candy overload and celebration of all things related to spiritualism.

The Bible says we shouldn’t promote anything that advocates spiritualism, the concept that the living can “communicate” with those who have died. According to the Bible, after all, it’s impossible to contact the departed. As Ecclesiastes 9:5 notes, “the dead know not anything."

And yet, due to the massive popularity of Halloween, we are likely to find ourselves in situations where we can’t avoid talking about it. It may happen at an office party or during an activity at your child’s school. Maybe someone notices you aren’t participating. It might be awkward to address it without sounding judgmental, but perhaps their curious questions can open the door to witnessing.

Sharing Your Faith on Halloween

Indeed, some Christians make a special effort to share the good news at this time of year, when many people are thinking about matters related to the afterlife. More than a few Halloween revelers wonder about loved ones who have passed away, and that can open their hearts to Bible truths about death and the life beyond.

We may not always realize it, but there are people all around us seeking answers to the most pressing questions of life—and eternity. Erik was one of these souls. He'd gotten involved in the occult before praying relatives helped turn his life around. Erik also found BibleProphecyTruth.com and learned what the Scriptures really teach. It changed his life!

Sharing the good news this Halloween doesn’t mean you have to stand on a street corner and shout to those passing by. Let’s face it: Some people we know wouldn’t think twice about approaching a total stranger at a grocery store, striking up a conversation, turning it to spiritual themes, and then inviting him or her to church. Many of us would be doing great to merely make eye contact with the strangers in line behind us, much less talk to them. Can you relate?

7 Easy Ways to Share Your Faith

So what can “shy Christians" do this Halloween? After all, we love helping seekers learn more about Jesus and the truths of His Word. He’s done so much in our lives, how could we possibly keep quiet about it? How can we do it in spite of our timidity? With that in mind, for the introverts and even the extroverts among us, here are seven great tips to easily share God’s Word this Halloween.

1. Shopping Cart Evangelism.

When you go to a grocery store, after emptying your shopping cart, leave an Afterlife Mystery sharing magazine for the next person who comes along.

2. Share on a plane.

When traveling by plane, leave "Is the Devil in Charge of Hell?" or another Amazing Facts Study Guide in the seat pocket in front of you.

3. Give away a free pen.

An AFCOE graduate purchases pens with Amazing Facts websites address printed on them, such as truthaboutdeath.com. Whenever they need to sign for anything, they leave the pen behind!

4. When staying in a hotel.

If you’re staying in a hotel, leave a Final Mystery book, DVD, or bookmark for the housekeeper—along with a nice gratuity. You can even write a nice note letting them know it’s a gift.

5. When dining out.

When eating out, before leaving the restaurant, leave a Spirits of the Dead sharing book on the table along with your tip. (Again, be sure to leave a generous tip!)

6. Returning books to the library.

Whenever returning books to the library, place an Amazing Facts GhostTruth.com witnessing bookmark in them.

7. Email Signatures.

If you have an email account, place links to an Amazing Facts website in your email signature. With every email you send, you’ll give an invitation to someone to get to know Jesus. Try Ghosttruth.com during the Halloween season. (Here you'll find a list of our other sharing websites.)

How Do You Share Your Faith?

There are plenty of other ways to share the message, of course. Even the shyest of believers can do these things with the abundant resources Amazing Facts offers in our store. The point is—share, share, and share again!

After all, Jesus is coming very soon! Let’s always be mindful of the great commission that He’s given us in Matthew 28, a commission given to all believers, even the shy introverted ones. And take courage because Philippians 4:13 says that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us!

Finally, one of the most effective keys to sharing your faith is prayer (Matthew 21:22). Pray for courage. Pray for opportunities. Pray and ask the Lord to show you what He would have you to do. If you are willing, God will use you.

And if you have any ideas on how to share your faith, let us know in the comments below and we could include them in future updates!
