Louis XIV was destined to do something great. He wanted to live in the country instead of in Paris so he had the Palace of Versailles built. Construction began in 1661. It took 35,000 workers 54 years to complete. It has 700 rooms, 67 staircases, 1,200 fireplaces, 2,000 acres of gardens, 20 miles of canals, and 372 statues.
Louis XIV built the most beautiful mansion on earth but he is no longer here to enjoy it.
1 Corinthians 2:9 says, “But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’”
Are you looking for treasure here, or the treasure that Jesus bought for you when He died for your sins?
