Who was Melchisedec?

Scripture: Genesis 14:18-20, Hebrews 7:1-22
Who was Melchisedec? Where did he come from? Where did he go? We don't know much about him, but what the Bible does tell us reveals an extraordinary connection.

Melchizedek means "king of righteousness" and was king of Salem and a priest of God. Salem means "peace" as in Prince of Peace. Melchizedek like Christ is the only person referred to as both a king and a priest.

I believe that Melchisedec was The Word/ Michael/Jesus who took human form and made a "dry run" so to speak during the era of Abraham. I base this on what is said in the old and new testaments about Him.

Melchisedec was NOT Jesus. Such a view is un-founded and erroneous.
If he really was a theophany, it would have been mentioned as it was with every other theophany.
He is a typology of Christ, and represented in Scripture as such. Henceforth we know not his background, his geneology, his beginning nor his ending, despite being GREATER (heb 7:4-7) than Abraham, the Father of the faithful.
Being a typology means that he could not be that which he is pointing to, for that would be contradictory.

I think he was Jésus-Christ, the god of the OT.

Pastor Jim
He was not Jesus Christ, he was only a very special type and figure of the Holy One, Jesus to come.
