Can you explain the New Moon's and Sabbath?

Scripture: Isaiah 66:22-23
Date: 01/01/2002
According to Isaiah 66, New Moons and Sabbaths will be observed in the new earth. What does it mean to observe a New Moon? Should we be doing it now?

The earth cannot tilt on an axis. The earth is flat and stationary. The dome firmament is over the earth. The ice wall (Antarctica) contains the water. The earth is not a spinning ball!

The seven day sign is this earth. We work 6 days then 1 day of rest. Yet none really work 6 days anymore. The millennium reign of JAH-ShuA is the 7th day. The day JAH reigns as King 1000 years. The Son of God. The 8th day is a reset. All things are made new. Back to new moon and full moon for keeping of days for the humans. These build their own houses and plant their own food. Simple minded people. Eating and drinking. The lunar cycle is their marker for days. The sun is for years. Simple.

From this discussion there are three main groups of genuine Sabbath keepers. 1. Gregorian calendar Sabbath/Saturday keepers. 2. New moon Sabbath keepers, 1st, 8th, 15th, etc 3. Creation week and Sabbath based on the the day 3 after the new moon. Group 2 and 3 are basically lunar Sabbath keepers while Group 1 is based on the solar (sun) system of time. In my opinion, the Sabbath may well have been hidden not only in scripture but also in plain sight from everyone until Christ returns. However, there should be hope of revealing this truth when the time is right. Obviously, when Christ ascended into Heaven from Mt. Olives, the angels told his disciples that Christ would return in the same manner, place and time. In Acts chapter 1, a clear prediction of Christ's return is given by the angels. If you read closely, Christ ascended on a Sabbath day; since the disciples went back, on the same day, to the city which is a Sabbath days journey. By finding the "true" Sabbath day using the various elements God created for us in creation week, we will know exactly when Christ will return and we can prepare ourselves if not those in the future for that day.
Additional way points have been given to Christians leading up to the ascension of Christ including the establishment of the Sanctuary with the Jewish nation and the various associated feasts and ceremonial Sabbaths. Remember that after Christ's ascension, exactly 50 days afterwards, the Holy Spirit descended upon His disciples. Now isn't that a clear indication of Christ's return date? Place is Mt. Olives. Is it possible that if we can find the exact date of the day of pentecost and count back 50 days, we can also find the true Sabbath day. That is also the Sabbath day that signals his glorious return.

Roadbathonthereef, using your logic, this would only give us one Sabbath a month.
The Sabbaths are to be kept every seven days after a new moon.
Every new moon is the start of a new week of a new month on our Fathers calendar!

Follow Genesis Gods word its simple the new moon was created on the 4th day. Count 2 days after new moon then that day at sunset begins the Sabbath 7th day rest of God. Forget Sunday, Saturday, Friday sunset. Also forget false new moon teachings where they try to start Sabbath 7 or 10 days after new moon. It's the 2 days after the 4th day creation at sunset God showed me this. Each new moon cycle may vary when the Sabbath starts according to Gregorian Roman calendar but it's still perfect and the real Sabbath Amen

God's Word does not say the New Moon was created on the fourth day. We don't really know what phase the moon was created in.

The moon, stars, and the earth were created in the period of time before the first day. It is referred to as “in the beginning” this corresponds to the time of the new moon. A dark moon. “And darkness was on the face of the deep”. This was the first period of time of the first month of the first year on earth. Our Creator then “worked on” what he created for six days. The hebrew word here, ‘asah, means to fashion, to appoint, to work on, to accomplish,to make, etc. not to create. It is a different hebrew word than what is used “in the beginning”, which is bara’ He works on what He created for six days, finishing His work on the seventh day of the month. He then rested on the next day, the eighth day of the month, but it was the seventh day of the week. Hence the seventh day sabbath rest day. Interestingly, the septuigant says He finished His work in the sixth day instead if the seventh! And it also says He rested in the seventh day. Both translations are correct if you know the Creator’s calendar. New moon day on the first of the month, then work week starts on the second, ending on the sabbath on the eighth. All weekly sabbaths in scripture fall on the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th of the month, and never in any other day. Eventually all flesh will be worshipping on these days, and also in the new moon day.
When light was created on weekday one, this corresponds to the first crescent of the moon, and it announces the first work day of the first week as in every moonth. I mean month. The new moon day is never counted as a day of the week.

I want to clarify some thing that everyone here has failed to understand. we have two separate time tables. There is the Civil Year and there is the Ceremonial Year. The weekly Sabbath is a Part of the Civil Year System, and the New Moon is a Part of the Ceremonial Year. The New Moon is a Ceremonial Sabbath, and it must not be confused with the Civil Sabbath other the Civil Weekly Cycle of the Civil Year.
The Civil Year is always 365.2525 days long, while the Ceremonial Year was based upon the monthly cycle of the Moon, whose orbit is less than 30 days. due to this, you can have 13 full moons in a Civil year time frame. In no way, does the lunar Cycle of the moon affect Cycle of the Civil Week.
The two time times do not affect one another. The Lunar Cycle does not change the Cycle of the Civil Week. It never does. The lunar cycle of the moon is so odd, that it takes up to 19 years, before it rises in the same place and time.
Please do not get the Lunar Cereomonial Time confused with the Civil week and Civil year.
In the Ceromonial, year, It was always 210 days long. Seven lunar months. The Ceremonial year always began with the New Moon.
The Passover always took place upon the eve of the First Full Moon of the Ceremonial year. At the Time of Christ Death, it so happen, that the Ceremonial Sabbath had fallen fell upon the week end, about two weeks before His Death took place. This Took place about the time that he drove out of the Temple Court the money changers, those who were selling the Lambs and doves and bulls and rams that were used in the Inner Temple Court Service. Thus there was two Sabbath that took place, back to back. It was known as the High Sabbath. Any time that a Ceremonial Sabbath took place at the same time as the Civil Sabbath, it was known as a High Sabbath, and a very special time,
He drove out of the Temple, those were selling and exchanging money. it was the Time of the High Sabbath, when everybody was in the Temple, and no man laid a hand upon Christ. Christ death came about two weeks later ... at the Time of the Full Moon ... Ellen White herself wrote that when Christ went into the garden of
Olive, the Moon was Full, it was the night of the Full Moon. This Full
Moon place after the High Sabbath. and Where do you think Christ spent that
High Sabbath ? in the Temple, ministering to the people ...
Again, once more, I will repeat, the Ceremonial lunar Cycle does not affect the Civil Weekly Cycle. It never does ..
Sincerely By the Boss, :)

Pastor Doug, you said that every New Moon would be a Sabbath. According to Ezk 46:1 and 3 the New Moon day is a day by itself....a day of worship.....but not a Sabbath. There were 3 kinds of days in that verse, and the Sabbath and the New Moon day were two different types of days. I also want to mention that although the New Moon is not mentioned in the Ten Commandments it still was commanded by God that the gate of the inner court would be opened on the Sabbath and the day of the New Moon. It is still a day of worship but not a Sabbath. I don't believe that God did away with keeping the New Moon, but that Julius Caesar did when he left it off his Julian Calendar at the suggestion of the astronomer Sosigenes. I think I have my facts straight but if I don't, please forgive. Thank you.

Based on my understanding You can only keep the Sabbath by following the lunar cycle. Youalso have to remember 1 day is from evening to morning. So the day of the new moon begins a new month and that day is considered the day of feast which is not considered a work day. The evening of the Seventh day AFTER the the day of feast/new moon is the Sabbath (from evening to morning) and every seventh day after that in that month is considered the new moon. It (the month) starts over on every new moon.

Teal, what do you mean 1 day is from evening to morning. The day begins at sunset and ends at sunset 24 hours later. I do believe that we must follow the lunar cycle. I do follow it. I keep New Moon Day and 7 days later I keep the true 7th day Sabbath.

Thank you for confirmation. I have been given the same understanding. I believe the Scriptures are clear about when New Moons and Sabbaths are and how we should keep them. Exodus 16 gives clarity and if many use a blank calendar it helps us see more clearly.

It is when we shall be obedent to are creators commandments like saying his name Yahweh. And keeping his sabath on the 7th day not on the day of sun god worship. The new moon means it is a new month and we shall gather in joy and whole heartedly. Thanking are father for all he has done for us..

There is only one calendar. Not 2. One is from our creator and follows the moon. 5he other is from Rome and has no light in it. It is from the deceiver. New moons start the months first day of the month. . Then six, days of work. Then a sabbath on the 8th day of the month.
Look up. You will see a first quarter moon. Then six more work days, and another sabbath on the 15th. Full moon. Six more work days and a sabbath on the seventh day, the 22nd of month, a 3rd quarter moon. Then six more work days and a sabbath on the seventh day, day the 29th. Then either one new moon on the 30th and 1 new moon on the 1st if 2 new moons occur, or a new moon on the 1st of the new month if 1 new moons occur. It is so simple a 4 year old can tell us when the sabbaths are. And there are no postponements for feast days. A new moon never occurs on a sabbath or a work day. It is easy and simple and will one day replace the gregorian as prophe ised in Isaiah 66.

Agreed, Note, I hv yet to read something on how Sabbaths can be pinpointed in the scriptures to fall on exact dates numbered 8th 15th 22nd and 29th many times!!! Also, may many please consider Psa 104:19 then Gen 1:14 may make more of a logical out come. I may also refer many to Ps 19:2,3 and consider how?

so does the sabbath fall on the same day of the week throughout the month and on the same day of the week for all months? Eg if the sabbath falls on say a Tuesday does it always fall on a Tuesday every month??? I find it so confusing no matter how I beg for guidance. Started a year ago with Saturday Sabbath then I find out about using the full moon then I read and listen to all the different takes on it by different pastors and I literally want to scream with absolute frustration. I beg for the Holy Spirit to guide and teach me over this past month of learning about the lunar calendar and Yahuwah is not a got of confusion so I'm in a pickle.

Yes. And no. Whichever day of the pagan week the new moon falls on, the next 4 sabbaths will also fall on. Easy peasy. The next new moon will either be one or two days later in the pagan week. For example, if the new moon falls on tuesday, the next 4 sabbaths will also be on a tuesday. The next new moon will either fall on a wednesday or it will fall on a thursday. The next 4 sabbaths will fall on the same day that the new moon did.
How do you determine new moon day? Consider this: a stop sign signals that there is an intersection ahead. It gives you time to break, because it is positioned before the intersection. If it was positioned after the intersection, it would serve no purpose. The moon is a faithful witness. It witness the day to come, just as the stop sign witnesses the intersection up ahead. On the day of the new moon, it will be seen as a thin crescent, at dusk, as the sun drops below the horizon. The new moon will follow closely and will set very soon behind the sun. This announces the next day being the first work day of the week. The day of the new moon is just ending. Similarly, the first quarter, full moon, last quarter, and last sliver of the moon announce the next day will be a sabbath. Not difficult at all! Hallelujah!

I'm in the exact same predicament; I also started over a year ago. I started by reading the bible, studying scripture, obeying the commandments, the Sabbath keeping. Since then I've learned more of the lunar calendar but the more I read about it the more confused I got. I pray for guidance and asked YHWH to send me the Holy Spirit to help me. What really confuses me is the extra day like the 30th and 31st . What do I do there and how can I be sure that I'm observing the Sabbath at the correct time?

Stick with it. Don't give up. It will straighten itself our eventually. I was also confused at one time but it's all clear to me now. It is the Gregorian calendar that makes it look like the Lunar Sabbath is floating through the month, but that's really not how it is. God's calendar is so accurate and precise. It's exactly the same every month. It's the Gregorian calendar that is wrong. It goes by a seven day weekly cycle that they say has come down to us since Creation, but where is the proof for that? The seven day cycle had to have been broken when God caused the Sabbaths to be forgotten because of the sins of the people. I hope my note is encouraging to you.

I have a question. The Bible says the Sun and the Moon were made on the fourth day. If there was a fourth day of the week, then there had to be a first day of the week. If there was a first day of the week, then there had to be a first day of the month the day before. In order for there to be a first day of the month, there had to be a Sun to reflect on the Moon on the first day of the month. Then there could be seen, a First Visible Crescent of the Moon on the fourth day. One more thing....God always starts His new month with the New Moon. Why would He not start the very first month of this world's history with the New Moon?

Hello Madeleine I have decoded the Dead Sea Scrolls calendar. Prior to this I was inspired to see in Genesis God rested 3 days after the new moon so I have been copying Him and no one else. I was delighted to then read the Essene Scrolls and it states in month of Abib the Sabbath is 3 days after the new moon and kept every 7 days for whole year. To locate Abib day one use new moon closest to spring eqionox of Israel which allows Passover to fall in spring Godbless you and Shalom

So new moon days should be worshipped the same as sabbath right?

No, I don't believe they are the same because Ezk 46:1 shows that there are 3 types of days in the month. They are "working days" and "Sabbath days" and "New Moon days". Sabbaths and New Moon days are similar, but not exactly the same. Sabbath days are days of worship and rest. New Moon days are worship days. I hope this helps.

New moon days are also a day of no buying or selling. It is a good day to start a journey, or to start a new endeavor. The march around Jericho started on a new moon day, this is in book of Jasher. So it is a day similar to a sabbath but not 100%
Caller: I was reading Isaiah 66 – I guess around [chapters] 22 and 23

Pastor Doug: Ok

Caller: …that um, ‘it shall come to pass, from one new moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me.”

Pastor Doug: Yes we just quoted that a minute ago that’s right.

Caller: All right. And I understand we’re going to be keeping the Sabbaths in the new heavens, but it also mentions the new moons.

Pastor Doug: Ok

Caller: Now, are these new moons the same as they were given to the nation of Israel?

Pastor Doug: Yes and no. Now this is a theory I have. First of all, there is no question of what God is saying here, is that from one week to another and one month to another, we will all come and worship before the Lord. Their weeks were divided by the Sabbath their months were divided by the new moons. Now listen very carefully, I believe that the seasons of the world were altered by the flood. I think our earth went through a catastrophic upheaval during the flood. We did not have the seasons we have. I think the earth tilted on its axis, which is what gives us our seasons. It may be that the month and the new earth will have 28 days, and if that’s the case, what that means is every new moon will also be a Sabbath.

Caller: I know we’re going to keep it but you say God is the same then, now and forevermore so we should keep it now as well as in the future, right?

Pastor Doug: Well I think that God is not telling us anywhere in the Ten Commandments that we need to keep the new moons. The new moons were separate from the Sabbath Commandment in the Bible.
