God Is Watching

China, which has one of the most sophisticated surveillance systems in the world, carefully monitors the activities of Christians. Pastors are often thrown in jail, and churches are closed. The government tracks religious organizations’ efforts to spread Bible truth and will shut down any perceived threats to the state.

While Amazing Facts’ work has been impacted, it has not been stopped. Your gifts and prayers open doors and bring the message of Jesus’ soon return to hearts yearning to know truth. The gospel knows no boundaries, no restricting laws, and no barriers erected by humans to prevent the three angels’ messages from going to all the world, including into the 3.7 million square miles of China.

The team you support in China must work carefully. Sometimes the work almost completely stops because of lockdowns. Sometimes the Amazing Facts Chinese website must be temporarily taken offline. But God’s work keeps going forward through prayers and gifts from partners like you.

Since January, you have helped translate ten voice-over videos into Mandarin, which makes it possible for seekers to watch Amazing Facts programs that change lives. Lockdowns from the pandemic slowed this translation work, but online videos are one of the most popular ways for people in China to learn the Bible truth.

While books cannot be printed due to government restrictions, website traffic has increased tremendously due to COVID. People have more time at home to surf the internet and social media. Nearly a million times people came to our three Chinese websites in the first quarter of 2022, and nearly another million times in the second quarter. Praise the Lord for these Mandarin-language websites and the gifted translators who create content for our friends in China!

Numbers for Bible School visitors have dropped because the government was shutting down sites, so the school was moved to the Amazing Facts app. We still praise God for 2,700 students who signed up for studies in the first half of this year! In addition, there is a robust number of QQ and WeChat friends of Amazing Facts. Nearly 10,000 Bible questions were answered by our local team in the first two quarters of 2022, including personal questions and requests to locate Sabbath-keeping churches.

Your support of Amazing Facts’ work in China is deeply appreciated. Only in heaven will we know the full results of your prayers and sacrificial gifts. What rejoicing there will be when we personally meet friends in the kingdom that came to know Jesus through you! Following are a few stories of how God used you to change lives in China this year!

Sister Wang

The first time Sister Wang went to a church was in 2018. A friend took her to a Sunday-keeping church in Beijing. She was so happy, and she fell in love with God. However, she admits, “At that time, I did not understand what true faith was.”

When the pandemic hit, Wang was not able to attend church, so she went online to When the pandemic hit, Wang was not able to attend church, so she went online to find spiritual support. By “chance,” she came across a sermon by Pastor Doug Batchelor on the internet. After thanking the team for posting sermons, she asked, “As Christians, should we keep Saturday or Sunday as the Lord’s Day?”

One of Amazing Facts’ internet evangelists sent Wang some videos and sermons from the Mandarin-language Sabbath Truth website. She was fully convinced about the seventh day and said, “I choose to obey the Lord completely and to follow His will.”

In addition, she was directed to a local Sabbath-keeping church. Due to the lockdowns, she cannot attend, but she regularly worships online with other believers and prays for others to find our websites. She writes, “Thank you for bringing me God’s Word and message!”

Two Elderly Pastors Start Keeping the Sabbath

Twenty years ago, Sister Qiang worshiped in a Sunday-keeping church. One day, Qiang learned that the seventh day was the actual Sabbath, so she joined other women in her village on Saturday in keeping God’s fourth commandment.

But Qiang’s brother, Pastor Lu, was angry about her decision. He pastored a Sunday-keeping church and was also Qiang’s neighbor. One day, Pastor Lu went over to his sister’s home and argued about the Sabbath commandment. He told Qiang how wrong it was to worship on Saturday. After saying a lot of terrible things about his sister and the others who worshiped with her, Pastor Lu threatened her.

Just a few years ago, Qiang’s daughter Jing felt a conviction to attend church. She first attended a larger Sunday church in her own village, explaining, “I didn’t see the Lord’s leading.” During this time, she saw an Amazing Facts video on the internet that revealed the Sabbath truth. It answered many of Jing’s questions, so she traveled each Sabbath to her mother’s village to join her for worship.

Then recently, Qiang’s sister-in-law, the wife of Pastor Lu, came over to Qiang’s home and said, “Sister, we have been worshiping on the wrong day for decades. Your brother [Pastor Lu] now knows that Saturday is the Sabbath. I’m sorry he fought with you. Please pray for us as we have decided to keep the true Sabbath. And pray for Brother Zhang [an elderly pastor in their village], because he has not learned about the seventh-day Sabbath.”

Soon after, Pastor Lu invited Pastor Zhang to study the Bible with him and his wife. For three days, they wrestled and prayed over Bible passages until, finally, all three were convicted to begin keeping the true Sabbath day holy.

Jing shared the Amazing Facts Chinese website with them, and her uncle [Pastor Lu] signed up for the Bible lessons, which brought him to a deeper understanding of the Sabbath. The devil tried to discourage the pastors during this time, but the small group of Sabbath-keepers fasted and prayed for them, and the harassment ceased.

Thank you for supporting the Amazing Facts Chinese website. It is working powerfully—even in the minds and hearts of pastors to know and accept the full teachings of the Bible!

Brother Ren

Brother Ren did not grow up in a Christian home. After his parents divorced, his mother and grandmother began attending a Sunday-keeping church. They bought Ren a Bible and took him with them to worship on Sundays. He explains, “I began to get in touch with faith and gradually came to know God and the truth of the Bible.”

A year later, Ren discovered the Final Events video on the Amazing Facts Chinese website. He shares, “I began to learn many new truths and looked forward to watching Pastor Doug’s sermons most every day.” He soon watched every video on the website and realized that his Sunday church taught many unbiblical doctrines, so he left that church.

During this time, he contacted the Amazing Facts team in China to pray for him and help him find a local Sabbath-keeping church. “I want to live a God-fearing life and worship the Lord every Sabbath.”

One of the Amazing Facts internet evangelists helped Ren find a Sabbath-keeping church, and a few months later, Ren was baptized. “Thanks be to God,” he shares, “His grace is good.” Ren is now part of God’s last-day people and is praying for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. He looks forward to the return of Jesus while helping others find truth through the Amazing Facts Chinese website.

God is merciful and abundant in truth!

Please pray earnestly for the Amazing Facts team in China, who are working in difficult circumstances. There are so many there who need to hear God’s last message of warning to Earth.
